What to Fix First

When I have more time….

When I get that raise…

When we can hire that guy…

When I finally get married…

When he gets it together…

When I can buy that house…

When the kids are grown…

When we build the facility…

When I have extra cash…

It’s natural to focus on outside factors. When I get. When we have. When they are. To manipulate ingredients. Hold out for new resources. Change variables. New wife. New church. New staff. New strategy. New job. New program. New friends.

Sometimes it works. Sometimes it’s necessary. But sometimes we’re the common denominator in the broken stuff around us.

Maybe we’re looking out when we need to be looking in?

Sometimes the truth can be too painful. Looking inside too costly. Sometimes the truth just hurts too badly. But if we’re not healthy, everything we contact runs the risk of getting sick, too.

Sometimes things aren’t where they need to be because we’re not who we need to be.

Maybe that’s a variable to consider first?
